Overview
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region employs a unique “social contribution evaluation system (score-based)” for limited conscription. When a citizen’s score falls below a certain threshold, they become eligible for conscription. From 2026 onward, “KOL dismantling live streams” have become a routine form of entertainment.
Social Contribution Scoring System
When a citizen’s “service points” fall below a certain level, they become subject to conscription. It appears to allow free will on the surface, but the scoring system itself is discriminatory and, in practice, tends to target socially vulnerable groups.
KOL Disassembly Live Streams
From 2026, the dismantling and processing of KOLs (influencers) began to be live-streamed. With over 200 broadcasts a year, this “entertainment-ization of processing” has been imitated throughout the Chinese-speaking world and has become popular as pay-per-view content on platforms like bilibili.
